One of my favorite things about the farmers market is the spontaneous food fun interactions that take place. Look at the picture above of one of the staffers of Coleman Family Farm how did I get her to put that squid hat on?
No silly, that isn't a cuttle fish, it is a "Buddha's Hand" grown by Murray Family Farms! Great job Steven Murray!
A Buddha's Hand is a "fingered citron" which is basically a bad ass lemon with no juice. Or maybe it is an old school lemon? Either way if you ever have had citron vodka you have tasted it.
Like a beautiful field of fingered citron. Waving in the breeze....
If you are not a farmers market fashionista. These photos may look strange to you. Why would all these normal looking people be smiling with this crazy looking thing on their head? Well...make sure to stop by the Santa Monica Farmers Market next Wednesday and visit Murray Family Farm to see it in person and you will see why.
I consider the Buddha's Hand to be one of my "soul foods" or a food that represents my personality. Look at me attacking Monica at JF Organic Farm with it.
KC looking sexy and citrusy in her Squid Hat.
Misha looking like the Justin Bieber of the farmers market.
Strawberries and Citron anyone? Strawberry American Apparel tank top coming soon to the site!!!
Can anyone else see why I want to start my own food modeling agency? The Justin Beiber of berries; Misha!!! I think I will call it the "Make Love Modeling Agency".
Have you ever tried a buddha's hand? Did you use it as a centerpiece during your Rosh Hashana dinner? Please leave your stories in the comments below!
