Make Love With Food Proud to Participate in Harry’s Berries Benefit Dinner for Pancreatic Cancer Action Network
OXNARD, CA Saturday, June 29-
On Saturday, June 29 Make Love With Food was proud to participate in Harry’s Berries Benefit Dinner in Oxnard, California catered by Wolf Puck Catering with 100% of the evening’s proceeds to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN). Make Love With Food was happy to donate 8 Harry’s Berries themed merchandise to the silent auction including a Gaviota strawberry backpack, pillow and fanny pack.
“I’ve known Harry’s Berries and their amazing strawberries for years,” says CEO Nathan Donahoe. Not only was their Gaviota strawberry my exclusive strawberry of choice as an executive chef but they are the only strawberry I use for my strawberry themed apparel. Our company mission is to save family farms by covering the world with their food so when I was invited to participate I was stoked!”
With over 300 guests who RSVP’d at this sold out annual event , attendees felt united by a common cause which has affected both Harry’s Berries and the renowned Wolfgang Puck Catering. It unfortunately took the lives of Harry and Yayoi Iwamoto, who founded the family-run Harry’s Berries in 1967, as well as Matt Bencivenga, Wolfgang Puck Catering’s longtime executive chef and managing partner.
Many loyal Harry’s Berries customers, pancreatic cancer survivors, friends and family filled their bellies with cocktails, mocktails and appetizers made with Harry’s Berries’ famous strawberries. Many enjoyed wandering around the beautiful farm, typically closed to the public, and bid on the many silent auction items.
“If Willy Wonka ran a strawberry farm it would like like Harry’s Berries farm,” says Nathan Donahoe. “There were strawberries and giant metal bug sculptures everywhere. It was awesome! “I was very happy with the amount of the bids. I felt like we really helped our farmers while supporting a good cause.”
